形態特徵

• Plants 40-60 cm tall. Rhizomes obscure. Pseudobulbs closely aggregated, nearly globose, ca. 3 cm in diam., with 3 or 4 nodes.
• Leaves 2-4, long-petiolate, oblong, 20-30 cm long, 7-15 cm wide, apex acute or obtuse, base cuneate; petiole ca. 20 cm long.
• Scapes arising with young leaves and new pseudobulbs, ca. 30 cm long; flower bearing portion ca. 10 cm long; bracts lanceolate, 0.5-1 cm long; pedicel and ovary 1.5-2 cm long, shortly pubescent. Flowers 3-10, golden yellow, more or less fragrant, 4-5 cm in diam.; sepals subequal, elliptic-oblong, 2.5-3 cm long, 1-1.2 cm wide, acute at apex, slightly contracted at base, glabrous inside, minutely hairy outside, 5-nerved, petals similar to sepals but smaller, 2.4-2.6 cm long, 7-8 mm wide, acute at apex, strongly contracted at base, 3-nerved; lip orbicular, 2.5-3 cm across, spurred, 3-lobed, lateral lobes falcate, nearly entire, central lobe oblong-obovate or nearly rectangular, obtuse and short aristate at apex, margins undulate, disc with 2 raised ridges at base and 3 slender ridges toward apex, spur ca. 7 mm long, slightly curved forward; column 6-7 mm long, lower half fused laterally with base of lip; anther rather large, cordate, 5-6 mm long; pollinia clavate, 2 mm long, with short caudicles attached to elliptic viscidium; stigma solitary; rostellum 2-lobed, lobes acute at apex.

分布

• 台灣 : forests at ca. 1,500 m in the northwestern mountainous region.
• 世界 : Southern Japan and the Ryukyus.
