形態特徵

• Annual with fibrous roots; culms sublossely tufted, 20-60 cm by 0.5-2 mm, angular, often densely pubescent, smooth.
• Leaves basal, few; blades linear, 5-30 cm by 2-4 mm, acuminate, flate, glaucousgreen, pilose, scabrid on upper margin; sheaths 2-12 cm long; ligule a fringe of short hairs.
• Inflorescence simple to decompound, 2-10 cm by 1-5 cm, loose to subdense; involucre bracts 2 -5, lower ones leafy, overtopping corymb; primary branches 2-12, 2-5 cm long, smooth, glabrous. Spikelets 5-25 per inflorescence, solitary or in clusters of 2 or 3, ovate to ovate-elliptic, 4-10 mm by 2.5-4 mm, acute, terete, densely many-flowered.
• Glumes many per spikelet, spiral, broadly ovate, 3-4 mm by 2-3.5 mm, chartaceous, scarcely keeled, with strong midvein and faintly nerved sides. Stamens 2-31-2; anthers 0.6-0.9 mm long. Style flat, slightly dialted at base, ciliate above, stigma 2. Achenes obovate to broadly obovate, 1-1.3 mm by 0.8-1.2 mm, thickly boconvex, prominently stipitate, yellow at maturity, cancellated with 16-24 rows of transversely rectangular cells.

• 台灣 : in open waste places, grassy roadsides, tea plantation and cultivated fields.
• 世界 : Warmer regions all over the world.
