形態特徵

• Perennials slender, andromonoecious. Stems puberulent in a line decurrent from sheath, otherwise nearly glabrous.
• Leaves sessile; blade lanceolate, 1.8-2.9 by 3-6 mm wide, apex acuminate or acute, glabrous, margins scabrescent; sheath 4-5 mm long, puberulent at mouth.
• Inflorescence terminal, a loose thyrse composed of 1-3 cymes and 1 or 2 flowering shoots from axils of cauline leaves; bracteoles persistent, deltoid, infundibuliform, perfoliate, ca. 2 by 2 mm, glabrous; pedicel 6-7 mm long. Flowers dimorphic; sepals greenish, apex reddish brown, boat shaped, lanceolate, equal, ca. 3.8 by 1.8 mm, apex obtuse; petals suborbicular, 5.2-6 by 5-6 mm, purple, fertile stamens 3, equal, anthers purple, narrowly ellipsoid-oblong, ca.1 mm long; filaments ca. 3.6 mm long, purple; staminodes 3, equal, antepetalous, antherodes ca. 1 mm long, filaments ca. 2.5 mm long, bearded; ovary ca. 1.8 mm long; style ca. 2.5 mm long, glabrous.
• Capsule ca. 3.8 by 2 mm, apex mucronulate. Seeds 4 per locule, brown, dimorphic: seeds at apex of capsule, deltoid, others trapezoid, 0.5-0.8 by ca. 0.8 mm, verrucose.

分布

• 台灣 : sandy ditches and alluvial flats, ca. 10 m.
• 世界 : The southern United States, India, Sri Lanka, southern China, the Philippines, Indonesia, and the Pacific islands.
