形態特徵

• Roots fibrous, without a tuberous rhizome.
• Leaves linear to linear-lanceolate, 10-20 cm long, 5-8 mm wide, apex acuminate to acute, base sheathed, chartaceous, marings entire or nearly so, light green, glaucous.
• Scape slender, wiry, narrowly margined, 15-25 cm long, 1-3 mm wide; spathe lanceolate, purplish red, 2-4 cm long, 3-5 mm wide, apex acute; bracts linear, 1-2 cm long, 2-3 mm wide, apex acuminate; flowers 3-6, pedicels 5-7 mm long, slender, glabrous; perianth tube 2-3 mm long; tepals oblong to obovate-oblong, 8-12 mm long, 3-4 mm wide, apex acute, violet blue, without a yellow base; stamens 3, filaments connate to summit; style branches filiform, alternating with stamens.
• Capsules ovoid to subglobose, dark brown, 3-5 mm long, ca. 3 mm in diam.; seeds minute, numerous, blackish.

分布

• 台灣 : naturalized in Taiwan in 1930-1940. Mountain slopes and open fields, 1,000-2,500 m throughout the island.
• 世界 : Native to eastern North America.
