形態特徵

Erect shrubs to 5 m tall; branches usually glabrous, with tufts of white hairs in leaf axils.
Leaves spirally arranged, sessile, mostly crowded at ends of branchlets, oblanceolate to spatulate, apex obtuse to rounded, base long-attenuate, entire or sinuate to dentate, 7–25 cm long, 4–10 cm broad, herbaceous, more or less fleshy, glabrous or sometimes short-tomentose.
Inflorescence to ca. 4 cm long, cymes, flowers 2–2.5 cm long; calyx lobes narrowly elongate, mostly 2.5–5 mm long, 0.5 to 1 mm wide; corolla white, turning pale yellow, tube densely pubescent within; stamens 5, adnate to basal part of corolla tube; style hairy; ovary 2-celled; ovule 1 per cell.
Drupe globose, pale green, ca. 1–1.5 cm across, pale brown at maturity.

分布

台灣 : widely distributed, common along sandy and rocky beaches throughout.
世界 : Madagascar, southeastern Asia, tropical Australia, Micronesia, Melanesia and Hawaii.
