形態特徵

• Shrubs, to 5 m tall, evergreen, glabrous; branchlets blackish-brown.
• Leaves ovate-globose to widely obovate, coriaceous, 7–20 cm long, apex abruptly acute, base broadly cuneate to round, margin serrate, upper surface dark, lustrous, lower surface pale, minutely glandular dotted; lateral veins 5–8 per side; petiole 1.5–3 cm long.
• Inflorescence a corymbose cyme, 8–15 cm across. Flowers white; calyx lobes small; corolla rotate, ca. 6 mm across.
• Fruits red, widely elliptic, ca. 8 mm across.

分布

• 台灣 : Seashore in the north, only one specimen seen from Taiwan.
• 世界 : Japan.
