Stems 2–7 cm tall, nodes 1 or 2, puberulous, unbranched.
Lower cauline leaf 1, petiolate; blade ovate or widely ovate, 2–6 cm long, 1.2–5 cm wide, membranaceous, both surfaces puberulous, base cordate, margins obscurely crenulate to serrulate, apex obtuse; lateral veins 3–5 pairs. Upper cauline leaves opposite or verticillate, subsessile or petiolate; blade widely ovate, 0.4–3 cm long 0.3–2.5 cm wide, base subcordate.
Cymes 3–15-flowered, peduncles 1–4 cm long, puberulous; bracts ovate, 4–6 mm long. Pedicel ca. 0.1 mm long, puberulous. Calyx ca. 5 mm long, lobes triangular, outside puberulous. Corolla pinkish to violet, glabrous outside, with a few hairs inside, tube ca. 2.5 mm long, upper lip 1–1.5 mm long, lower lip 1.5–2 mm long. Stamens glabrous; anthers orbicular, ca. 0.8 mm long; staminodes 2, minute. Ovary globose, glabrous.
Capsule subglobose, enclosed by persistent calyx, 1.5 mm in diam., glabrous. Seeds fusiform, ca. 0.5 mm long.
