形態特徵

• Herbs, to 1 m tall, covered with septate hairs; stems erect or rarely procumbent, square, puberulent, densely so on angles, often covered with glandular dots.
• Leaves petiolate; petioles puberulent, to 1 cm long; blades 2–8 cm long, 0.2–2 cm wide, elliptic, narrowly ovate to ovate, base cuneate, sometimes oblique, apex acute, margins serrate, both surfaces puberulent, densely so on veinlets, covered with glandular dots, veinlets 6–8-pairs, prominent beneath.
• Inflorescences of clustered flowers in leaf axils, globose, often umbel-like in lower parts; bracteoles narrowly elliptic, nearly glabrous on upper surface, puberulent and covered with glandular dots below. Flowers pedicellate; pedicels to 2 mm long, minutely hairy; calyx 1.5–2 mm long, campanulate, puberulent, covered with glandular dots, 5-toothed, teeth equal, spine-like, minutely hairy or puberulent in throat, linear-triangular, divided to 1/2 or more its length; corolla 2.5–3 mm long, campanulate, tube glabrous, limb covered with small hairs, 4-lobed, upper lobe largest, broadly ovate, emarginate, other 3 lobes ovate, throat minutely hairy; stamens 4, equal, inserted in throat; anthers 2-celled, parallel; stigma bifid.
• Fruitlets ovoid, apex obtuse, smooth, ca. 0.8 mm long.
