形態特徵

Small shrubs; branchlets somewhat tetragonal, minutely and very sparsely pubescent or glabrous, often with a ring of multicellular hairs at nodes.
Leaves thin chartaceous, broadly ovate or subcordiform, 5–18 cm long, 4.5–16 cm wide, apex acute or short acuminate, base deeply cordate, entire or coarsely 3–5-toothed, minutely and sparsely pubescent along midrib on upper surface, distinctly squamulose and minutely punctate on lower surface; petiole 2–10 cm long, glabrous or very slightly and minutely pubescent.
Inflorescence paniculate, terminal, red or orange-red; peduncle glabrous. Flowers red in bud; pedicel red or orange red, glabrous; calyx red or orange red, campanulate, 4–6 mm long, deeply lobed, tube short, glabrous; corolla red or orange red, rarely white, tube 1–1.3 cm long , minutely pubescent outside, lobes 3–4 mm long, minutely pubescent on both surfaces; styles 4 time as long as corolla tube.
Drupes greenish blue.

台灣 : in lowlands throughout the island.
世界 : India, Sri Lanka, Andaman Islands, Malaysia, Indonesia and southern China.
