形態特徵

• Lianas, stems herbaceous toward tips, basally woody, glabrous
• Leaves orbicular in outline, 6–16 cm long, usually 7-lobed, sometimes almost to base, lobes lanceolate to elliptic, acuminate, entire, glabrous; petiole 6–18 cm long.
• Flowers in compound cymes; peduncle 10–20 cm long, occasionally solitary; sepals unequal, outer oblong, 25–30 mm long, obtuse, mucronulate, inner smaller, 12–20 mm long, acute; corollas yellow, 5–6 cm long.
• Capsules subglobose, 30–35 mm in diam., irregularly dehiscent, sepals accrescent, subtending fruit; seeds black, densely short tomentose, 1–1.5 cm long.

分布

• 台灣 : cultivated land and secondary forests.
• 世界 : Native of tropical America, now widespread through cultivation and escapes.
