形態特徵
- Small evergreen trees; twigs gray-brown, terete, young twigs green, slightly ridged below petioles, glabrous. Terminal buds narrowly ovoid, appressed ferrugineous hairy, 3–4 mm long, apex acuminate, usually slightly curved.
- Leaves coriaceous, elliptic to narrowly elliptic, 5–12(–16) cm long, 2.5–4(–6) cm wide, apex acuminate to caudate, with apiculate tip, base attenuate, margins slightly recurved, glandular-dentate to crenulate with teeth, teeth 4–8(–15) mm apart, glabrous, midrib impressed on upper surface, prominent on lower surface, reticulation coarse, petiole glabrous, 7–20 mm long.
- Inflorescence axillary, a spike, usually branched near base, 1–5(–7) cm long, axis ferrugineous villose but soon glabrescent, bracts ovate 1–1.5 mm long, bracteoles 2, depressed ovate to semiorbicular, ca. 1 mm long, both persistent, keeled, apex acute to obtuse, margin glandular, adaxially glabrous, abaxially appressed hairy. Calyx tube glabrous, 0.5–1 mm long, limb 0.5–1 mm long, lobes imbricate, semiorbicular to widely ovate, rounded at apex, glabrous or sparsely appressed hairy; corolla 3–3.5 mm long, deeply 5-lobed, tube to 0.5 mm long, lobes elliptic; stamens ca. 35–40; disc glabrous, annular; style glabrous, 2–3 mm long, ovary 3-locular.
