形態特徵

• Large evergreen trees to 40 m tall; branchlets pale yellowish or whitish puberulous, glabrescent or nearly so.
• Leaves chartaceous, oblong, elliptic or obovate-oblong, (10.0–)10.6–24.4(–49.5) cm long, (5.7–)6.3–11.7(–17.8) cm broad; apex rounded, obtuse, acute or obtuse-acuminate, base narrowly or broadly cuneate; margin entire; petiole (2.1–)2.8–5.8(–7.4) cm long. Inflorescences fascicles, forming axillary elongate racemes, to (3.5–)5–12(–15) cm long.
• Flowers small, ca. 5 mm in diam., pale yellow to yellowish-green; calyx 5(or 6)-lobed, imbricate, glabrous inside, pubescent outside; corolla campanulate, 5(or6)-lobed, glabrous on both sides or nearly so; stamens 5(or 6), anthers ovoid; staminodes 5(or 6), triangular, petal-like, alternate with corolla lobes; ovary villous; pedicel 4–8(–10) mm long.
• Fruit a berry, ellipsoid, dark purplish-red at maturity, 3.1–4.5(–5.4) cm long, 1.2–1.6 cm in diam. Seeds usually 1, dark brown.

分布

• 台灣 : only on Lanyu Is. in low elevation forests.
• 世界 : Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and New Guinea.
