形態特徵

• An evergreen medium tree, branchlets subterete, glabrous, ultimate branchlets much compressed.
• Leaves opposite, chartaceous, ovate-lanceolate or oblong, caudate or caudate-cuspidate at apex, acute or obtuse at base, 8.5–11.5 cm long, 2.2–4.0 cm broad, margins entire, glabrous, obscurely punctate, midrib impressed above, elevated below, lateral veins elevated on both surfaces, 8–11 on each side of the midrib, usually forming double definite submarginal veins; petioles 5–7 mm long, glabrous.
• Inflorescence usually a terminal corymbose cyme, 4–6 cm long, glabrous, subtented by 2 triangular small bracts; pedicels 1.8–2.2 cm long; calyx turbinate, lobes seborbicular, unequal, the larger ones 5 mm long, 8 mm broad, the smaller 4 mm long, 6 mm broad; petals 4, elliptic, 1.3 cm long, apex rounded; stamens numerous, filaments filiform, 1.5–2.2 cm long, anthers oblong, 2 mm long; ovary 2-celled, style-column filiform, 2.8 cm long, stigma undivided.
• Fruit elliptic, about 2 cm or more in diameter, red when ripe, crowned by thick calyx rim.

分布

• 台灣 : Taiwan, known only from Lanyu (Botel Tobago).
• 世界 : Philippines.
