形態特徵

Shrubs 2–5 m tall; young branchlets with dense silky hairs, later glabrescent, with scales at base, hairs 2-armed or hooked; thorns straight or slightly curved upward, 3–6 mm long, sometimes reduced or wanting.
Leaves herbaceous to subcoriaceous, ovate-lanceolate, 7–25 cm long, 2.5–8 cm wide, apex acuminate, base acute to blunt, sometimes rounded, midrib sometimes sunken above, lateral veins 7–12 pairs, yellowish, veinlets distinct, dull glabrous above; petioles 0.5–0.8 cm long.
Inflorescences slender, short racemes, axillary; flowers 1–5(–10); pedicel 0.5–4 cm long, puberulous; sepals subequal, herbaceous, 4–7 mm long, 2.5–4 mm wide, puberulous outside, outer pair acute to blunt, sometimes slightly cucullate, inner pair blunt to rounded, free in bud; petals mostly obovate, white or pale green or pink, 0.7–1 cm long, 3–4 mm wide, with soft hairs at apex on outer side, margins white; stamens 20–30(–50), filaments white, anthers pale bluish-violet, connectives white; gynophore 1.5–2.5 cm long, white or violet, connectives white; gynophore 1.5–2.5 cm long, densely white tomentose during anthesis; ovary ellipsoid, 2.5 mm long, densely hairy, stigma knob-shaped, glabrous; placentas 2 or 3.
Berries with glabrous stipe, subellipsoid, 1.2–2.1 cm long, 1–1.9 cm wide, umbonate, pericarp leathery, verruculose, glabrous, black, often with reddish or bluish or yellowish tinge;Seeds 5–15(–25), 6 mm long, 4 mm wide.

分布

台灣 : in dry places on Lutao Is. (Green Is.).
世界 : Timor, Java, Sunda Is., Sumatra, Borneo, Sulawesi, New Guinea, Thailand, Vietnam, Hainan and the Philippines.
