Small Evergreen shrubs; trunk brown, 4 m tall, 10 cm across; branchlet brownish, terete, glabrous; buds oblong, whitish-sericeous, acute, 6 mm long, 3 mm across; sprouting branchlets violet, white-pubescent, young Leaves green.
Leaves alternate, coriaceous, very fragile when dry, oblong, lanceolate to oblanceolate, entire, 5-9 cm long, 1.5-2.3 cm broad, caudate or rarely acute at apex, acute to cuneate at base, somewhat lustrous above, glabrous, green and never glaucous beneath when fresh, midrib impressed, somewhat concave above, prominently elevated beneath, lateral veins 7-8 pairs, indistinctly elevated above, strongly elevated beneath, veinlets elevated and reticulate beneath; petioles 5-10 mm long, deep brown when dry.
Inflorescences axillary.
Fruit ellipsoid, solitary, green with whitish linear markings, glabrous; receptacles green, glabrous.
