形態特徵

• Annual ascending to erect herbs, to 180 cm tall, hirsute throughout; stems much branched; nodes enlarged.
• Leaves ovate, 7–20 cm long, 3.5–10 cm wide, apex acuminate, base obtuse to weakly cordate, petioles 3–11 cm long; ocreae tubular, upper margins expanded to foliaceous, green, ciliate.
• Inflorescences 4–5-flowered fascicles in spike-like panicles, terminal or axillary, densely flowered, 3–8 cm long; peduncles 4–9 cm long; bracts elliptic, apex acute to obtuse, upper margins ciliate. Flowers pink to red; pedicels slightly exserted; perianth segments 5, elliptic, 3–4 mm long, apex obtuse; stamens 7–8, usually 7; styles 2-cleft, included; nectaries present.
• Achenes brown to dark brown, lenticular, smooth, not shining, ca. 2 mm long.

分布

• 台灣 : in wet open fields and roadsides.
• 世界 : Europe, Australia, India, Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Indochina, Indonesia, Malaysia, China (except Xizang), the Philippines, Japan, Korea and Russian Far East.
