形態特徵

• Perennial herbs, sometimes slightly woody at base, ascending.
• Paired leaves subequal to very unequal, membranaceous to herbaceous, ovate, obovate, elliptic, narrowly elliptic, oblanceolate to oblong-oblanceolate, 1.2-15.2 cm long, 0.8-5.0 cm wide, cuspidate, apex acute, acuminate to caudate, with a serrulate acumine, margins serrulate, base cuneate to broadly cuneate, 3-nerved; petioles 0-7.5 cm long; stipules connate at base, broadly triangular, truncate and inconspicuously toothed at apex, veinless.
• Inflorescences usually 2 per axil, cymose panicles, sessile to short pedunculate; male inflorescences 2.4-6.5 cm long, peduncles 2.7-4.7 cm long; female inflorescences 0.3-3.9 cm long, peduncles 0-2.5 cm long. Male flowers slightly compressed laterally, broadly obovoid; sepals 4 or 5, connate about halfway, valvate, cymbiform. Sepals of female flowers 3, connate at base, somewhat unequal, cymbiform; ovary glabrous, slightly asymmetrical, ellipsoid.
• Achenes laterally compressed, asymmetrical, ellipsoid.

物候

Flowering and fruiting throughout most of the year, flowers and fruits abundant in summer and fall.

分布

• 台灣 : Ravines, shady moist forest floors, sunny roadsides and wet rocks at low to medium altitudes in the eastern parts of the island and on Lanyu Island.
