形態特徵

• Rhizome stout, short. Culms solid, fibrous, erect, slender, usually less than 2.5 cm in diam.
• Blade less than 5 cm wide; ligule well developed; sheath long, hairy at mouth, longer than internode. Panicle with long silky hairs on peduncle just beneath inflorescence, pedicel funnel shaped, falling with joint of rachis when mature, easily breaking, scattered by wind.
• Spikelets paired, monomorphic, one pedicelate, other sessile, awnless. Sessile spikelet oblong; callus long silky hairy, hairs longer than spikelet; glume nearly as long as spikelet, glabrous; lower glume with margins infolded; upper glume boat shaped; lower lemma slightly shorter than spikelet, membranaceous; lower palea wanting; upper lemma membranaceous, but well developed, narrowly linear.
