特徵描述

形態特徵

Culms 2-10 m tall, 1-6 cm in diam., internodes 15-70 cm long; nodes prominent with manybranches; walls 2-4 mm thick.
Sheath of culm with dark brown hairs, margins entire; auricles of sheath conspicuous, with tufts of bristles; ligule of sheath narrow or inconsoicuous, glabrous; blade of sheaths triangular, narrowed at base, fimbriate along margins at base when young. Leaves 5-13, linear-lanceolate, 8-20 cm long, 1.5-2.5 cm broad, densely pubescent beneath, spinulose-scabrous along one margin, sparsely so along other; veins 5-8, veinlets 8-9; petiole short, 2 mm long; auricles of leaf convex, ovate, with tufts of brown bristles; ligule of leaf rounded or truncate, aristate; sheath of leaf 4-8 cm long, glabrous, entire.
Spikelets in clusters of 3-6 or more at nodes of leafless branches, 3-4 cm long, 4 mm in diam., 4-5 flowered; glumes 2, ovate-lanceolate, 6 mm long, 2.4 mm wide, veins 7; lemmas ovateoblong, acute, 11-13 mm long, 9 mm wide, glabrous, veins 17-19; palea ovate, acute, 9-11 mm long, 5-7 mm wide, veins 5-6 between keels, 4-5 between each keel and edge, hairy on keels, gynoecium 8 mm long; ovary obovate, 3 mm long, 1.2 mm in diam., with 3 vascular strands seen in cross section; style short with 3 feathery stigmas; stamens 6, anthers 6 mm long; lodicules 3, 4-5 mm long, 1.2-1.5 mm wide, densely hairy along upper margins.
Fruit ovoid-elliptic, 6-7 mm long, 3-4 mm in diam.

分布

台灣 : Commonly and widely planted throughout the island, at low elevations, especially as a windbreak around farmhouses.
