形態特徵

• Tufted without distinct rhizome. Culms slender, 10-40 cm tall, 0.7-1 mm thick, 4- or 5-angular, smooth, closed at base with 3 or 4 sheaths only.
• Sheaths 2-10 cm long, tightly surrounding base of culm, lower ones stramineous, upper ones pale green, thin, orifice obliquely truncate, with a subulate appendage ca. 0.8 mm long.
• Inflorescence a pseudo-lateral head with 1 to 4 spikelets; bract culm like, 6-16 cm long, acute at apex, dilated at base. Spikelets lanceolate to ovate-oblong, pale or cinereous-green, terete, 8-20 mm long, 3-4 mm wide, cuneate at base, gradually tapering above to acute apex, densely manyflowered.
• Glumes elliptic to ovate-elliptic, 3.5-4 mm long, 2.5 mm wide, acute at ciliolate apex, thickly membranaceous, indistinctly many-veined on both sides, keel green, slenderly 1-nerved, ending in a short acumen at apex. Achenes obovate, 1.5-1.8 mm long, 1 .5 mm wide, plano-convexed, cuneate-contracted at base, rounded to mucronate at apex, sides maturing dark brown, slightly transversely wrinkled; style 2-2.5 mm long, 2-cleft at apex. Hypogynous bristles 4 or occasionally 5, all surpassing achene, retrorsely scabrous except at base.
• A distinct species of the section Actaeogeton by the elongated spikelets and proportionately long bracts.

• 台灣 : Sporadically occurring in wet places.
• 世界 : From Japan southwards to the Malesia southwestwards to northern India.
