形態特徵

• Short-lived perennial. Culms solitary or few together, slender, stiff, 40-90 cm, smooth.
• Leaves linear, mostly much shorter than culm, 2-4 mm wide, sheaths to 8 cm long, reddish brown to fuscous.
• Corymbs simple, sublax, 3-6 cm long, 4-8 cm wide; bracts 2-4, one or two lower surpassing corymb, longest 10-20 cm long; rays 1-6, patent, to 6 cm long. Spikes broadly ovoid-ellipsoid, 2-3 cm long and as wide, bearing 3 to 12 spikelets. Spikelets patent to divergent, lanceolate to lanceolate-oblong, acute, 8-15 mm long, 3.5-5 mm wide, flattened, 10-25-flowered; rachilla wingless.
• Glumes patent, lanceolateovate to ovate-elliptic, acute, 3.8-4 mm long, 2.5-3 mm wide, folded with acute keel, chartaceous, nerveless sides yellowish green to straw-colored, later turning straw-brown, glaucous keel 3-nerved. Achenes broadly elliptic or ovate-orbicular, 1-1.5 mm long, 0.8-1 mm wide, laterally flattened, contacted to apiculate apex, maturing shining black, puncticulate; style 2-3.5 mm long, 2-cleft.

分布

• 台灣 : Wet, open, grassy fields and swamps.
• 世界 : Pantropic, but rather scarce in Asia.
