形態特徵

• Probably an annual or short-lived perennial, sometimes with short rhizome. Culms tufted, stiffly erect, (16-)-50 cm tall, triquetrous, smooth.
• Leaves few, shorter than culms; blades linear, 1.5-3 mm wide, stiffish, flattish plicate; sheaths red-brownish.
• Corymbs often contracted in a subglobose or irregularly lobed head-like cluster of spikelets without rays, 2-5 cm across, sometimes more or less open with 2-5 short rays to 5 cm long; leafy bracts 3-5, usually lowest only surpassing inflorescence. Spikelets digitately disposed, linear to linear-lanceolate, 1-2.5 cm long, 1.5-2 mm wide, acute at apex, flattened, 10-40-flowered, orange brown; rachilla flexuous.
• Glumes oblong-ovate to ovate, 1.5-1.8 mm long, acute at apex, thinly chartaceous, straw colored or reddish brown, narrowly whitish, membranaceous on margins, nerveless except for 3-nerved greenish keel. Achenes oblong-obovate, ca. 1 mm long, lenticular, dark brown at maturity, minutely punctulate; style ca. twice as long as achene; stigmas 2. Stamens l.

分布

• 台灣 : Wet or semi-dry open ground, especially near the seacoast.
• 世界 : Pantropic; extending northwards to central Japan.
