形態特徵

• Annual, tufted with fibrous roots. Culms 8-30 cm tall, ca. 1 mm thick, slender, whitish green, trigonous.
• Leaves few to a culm, much shorter than culm; blades narrowly linear, 0.7-1.5 mm wide, weak, involute or flattish, gradually tapering to acute apex; sheaths 1.5-2.5 cm long, pale. Leafy bracts 2 or 3, much longer than inflorescence, spreading to reflexed.
• Inflorescence a head with 1-3 (rarely 4) spikes, ca. 1 cm across; spikes ovoid, obtuse, squarrose, 3-5 mm long, ca. 3 mm wide, bearing many bracts, each subtending a hidden spikelet. Bracts obovate-oblong, 1-1.5 mm long, thinly membranaceous, pale, prominent mid-nerve excurrent in a recurved mucro ca. 0.5 mm long.
• Glumes 2, linear, 1-1.25 mm long, few-nerved, dorsiventral. Achenes linear-oblong, ca. 1 mm long, trigonous, straw-colored; style short; stigmas 2 or 3, short. Stamens 1 or 2.

• 台灣 : Open wet places such as rice fields, marshes, and river banks.
• 世界 : Indochina, Malesia, Australia, southern China, Japan.
