形態特徵

• Small plants with slender stolons, often forming a mat, culms capillary, densely tufted, 3-10 cm tall, 0.2-0.3 mm thick, closed at very base with a few sheaths only.
• Sheaths 2-10 mm long, white-hyaline and at times tinged with reddish brown, orifice obliquely truncate, obtuse, hyaline-margined.
• Spikelet lanceolate to ovate, 2-4 mm long, subacute at apex, loosely few-flowered, pale green or slightly reddish brown tinged, glumes loosely imbricate or often indistinctly 2-ranked in lower part of spikelet, ovateoblong, 1-2 mm long, subobtuse or subacute at apex, keel green.
• Achenes obovate-oblong, 0.8-1 mm long, gradually tapering to base, contracted at apex, obtusely trigonous, pale, sides manifestly tuberculate with 3 or 4 rows of transversely oblong epidermal cells; style 3-fid, base depressed-conical, 1/2-1/3 its width of achene. Hypogynous bristle 3 or 4, surpassing achene.

分布

• 台灣 : Rather common on wet soil, as in nonflooded paddy fields.
• 世界 : Widely spread in boreal and subtropical parts of North America and Eurasia.
