形態特徵

• Tubers fusiform, 5-9 cm long, 2-4 cm across, usually with brownish coat.
• Stem elongate, 1-3 m long, creeping to climbing, branched, smooth or sometimes spiny; branchlets well developed, greenish, often spiny at nodes; cladodes 1-3 per fascicle, flat, falcate or curved, linear, 2-4 cm long, 2-3 mm wide, apex acuminate, greenish, glabrous on both surfaces; leaves scale-like, early deciduous.
• Flowers, pale yellow, 3-4 mm in diam., fascicled; pedicel short, 3-5 mm long, glabrous, greenish, articulate near middle; bracts basal, triangular, 2-3 mm long, apex acute; perianth segments 6, somewhat spreading, outer 3 oblong to oblong-lanceolate, 4-5 mm long, 1-2.5 mm wide; inner segments somewhat narrower, apex obtuse, short connate at base; stamens 6, attached at base of perianth; filaments filiform, 2-4 mm long, 1 mm wide, glabrous; anthers rounded; ovary ovoid, 2 mm across, glabrous; style slender, trifid.
• Fruit a berry, globose, ca. 3 mm across, greenish, turning dark red. Seeds 1-3, globose, 1-1.5 mm across.

分布

• 台灣 : exposed fields, sea level to 1,500 m, throughout the island, very common.
• 世界 : Japan, the Ryukyus, mainland China, Vietnam, the Philippines, Laos and Thailand.
