形態特徵

• Submersed dioecious freshwater herbs.
• Leaves linear, 1-1.5 cm long, 1-3 mm wide, sessile, margin serrulate, apex acuminate, with a minute spine, with 2 axillary scales. Staminate spathes subglobose, ca. 1.7 mm long, 1.2 mm wide, short stalked.
• Staminate flowers: sepals broadly ovate, 1.2-1.3 mm long, 1.1-1.2 mm wide, hyaline, prominently convex; petals linear, ca. 1.1 mm long; stamens 3, anthers 2-celled, stalked. Pistillate flowers with a long pedicel; sepals spatulate, 1.8-2.2 mm long, 0.8-0.9 mm wide, with brownish dots; petals narrowly spatulate, hyaline, 1.7-2 mm long, 0.5-0.8 mm wide; ovary beaked; stigmas opposite petals.
• Fruit softly echinate. Seeds acute at both ends, ca. 5 mm long, glabrous.

分布

• 台灣 : submersed in ponds and running water throughout the island.
• 世界 : Australia, Java, Borneo, Malaysia, the Philippines, northeastward to Japan and mainland China.
