形態特徵

Shrubs or subshrubs to 1.5 m tall; pubescence yellowish, of simple, often moniliform hairs mixed with many-celled ones.
Leaves dimorphic, the major leaves elliptic-ovate, 9–15 cm long, 5–7 cm wide, apex acute or acuminate, base cuneate, sparsely pubescent, more densely so beneath; petiole 0.5–4 cm long; minor leaves broadly ovate, 2.5–4 cm long, 2–3 cm wide; petiole 0.5–4 cm long.
Inflorescences several-flowered fascicles in leaf axils; pedicel 0.5–2 cm long. Calyx cupular, 3–6 mm long, 10-dentate, teeth linear-awl-shaped, 2–3 mm long; corolla pale purple or white, often drying dark, to 8–10 mm long, lobes lanceolate, 6 mm long; filaments l mm long, anthers 3–3.5 mm long, sometimes pubescent.
Berry red, globose, 6–9 mm across; fruiting calyx pubescent with simple and branched hairs, teeth slightly longer than in flower; seeds numerous, pale yellow, ovate to subtriangular, 1.5–2 mm across, reticulate.

台灣 : in thickets throughout the interior (100–2,300 m).
