形態特徵

Herbs or suffruticose plants, covered with septate hairs; stem stout, minutely hairy, angles obtuse.
Leaves petiolate; petioles minutely hairy, 1–5 cm long; blades 12–20 cm long, 6–12 cm wide, elliptic to ovate, both surfaces glabrous, minutely hairy on veinlets beneath.
Flowers in dense verticillate cymes; calyx campanulate, 7–9 mm long, 5-toothed, teeth equal or nearly so, densely covered with tomentose hairs; corolla 9–11 mm long, minutely hairy, upper lip erect, lower lip 3-lobed, central lobe undulate; stamens 4, anthers 2-celled.
This species is similar to <i>P. javanica</i> but can be distinguished by the yellow tomentose hairs on its calyx.
