形態特徵

Medium sized trees to 20 m tall.
Leaves lanceolate to elliptic or oblong, 5–15 cm long, 2–7 cm wide, subcoriaceous, apex acute or mucronate, base rounded or subcordate to obliquely truncate, margin serrulate, serrate to dentate, glabrescent or obscurely scabrous above, pubescent along veins on lower surface; petiole indistinct to 2.5 cm long.
Inflorescences terminal on main and lateral branches, thyrsoid, bractless or with few basal bracts, pedicel indistinct to 2 mm long. Calyx cup shaped, 1–2 mm long, glabrous, margin ciliolate; lobes 5, cleft beyond middle, segments orbicular or ovate-orbicular. Corolla funnelform, tube 1.5–2.5 mm long, lobes oblong, 2–3 mm long. Stamens exserted, filaments affixed to corolla tube, anthers ovate-oblong, ca. 1 mm. Styles 1.5–2.5 mm long, cleft 1/3, stigma indistinct.
Fruit yellowish orange, globose, 2–3 mm in diameter, pyrenes 2, 2-seeded.

台灣 : in forests from low elevations to 1,100 m.
世界 : Japan, S. China, Malesia, Indochina, India and Australia.
