形態特徵

Medium sized deciduous trees to 15 m tall, branches brownish pilose.
Leaves elliptic, ovate, broadly ovate to obovate, 6–15 cm long, 4–10 cm wide, apex acuminate to obtuse, base cuneate to subcordate, margin serrate, strigose above, hispid below; petiole 1–2 cm long, grooved above.
Inflorescences terminal or rarely lateral. Flowers yellowish white to white, hermaphroditic, subsessile. Calyx lobes 5, free, 3–5 mm long, densely short pubescent. Corolla campanulate, tube 5–6 mm long; lobes 5, oblong, 3–4 mm long, hirtellous. Stamens exserted, filaments 3–5 mm long, anthers1–1.5 mm long. Styles 6–9 mm long, stigma bifid.
Fruit yellow to orange, subglobose, 10–15 mm in diam., pyrenes 2, 2-seeded.

分布

台灣 : in forests from low elevations to 1500 m.
世界 : The Ryukyus, S. China and the Himalaya.
