形態特徵

Medium sized deciduous trees, 4–20 m tall, branches brownish hirsute.
Leaves lanceolate-ovate to broadly ovate, 6–15 cm long, 4–10 cm wide, apex acuminate to obtuse, base cuneate to subcordate, margin entire and undulate, or sometimes remotely crenulate toward apex, glabrescent or scabrous above, hairs mostly with 2 cycles of calcified accessory cells, sparsely pubescent below with more hairs along veins; petiole 1–3 cm long, grooved above.
Inflorescences terminal or rarely lateral. Flowers yellowish white, hermaphroditic or male, sessile. Calyx campanulate, 3–6 mm long, densely short pubescent in flower, glabrescent in fruit; lobes 5, short triangular, unequal, reflexed. Corolla as long as calyx, lobes slightly shorter than tube; throat villose; lobes 4–6, oblong, reflexed. Stamens subsessile, anthers long exserted.
Fruit yellowish or reddish when mature, subglobose, 7–10 mm in diameter.

分布

台灣 : in sunny thickets at low elevations.
世界 : The Ryukyus, S. China, Malesia, New Caledonia, Indochina, and Pakistan.
