形態特徵

• Twining or prostrate herbs on moist soil or sometimes floating on water. Stems thick, hollow or spongy, rooting at nodes, glabrous.
• Leaves glabrous, variable, ovate, lanceolate or triangular, 3–15 cm long, 2–9 cm broad, apex acute or obtuse to retuse and mucronulate, base cordate to sagittate or hastate; petiole 3–15 cm long.
• Inflorescences several-flowered cymes or solitary; peduncle 1–12 cm long; pedicel 2–6 cm long, glabrous; sepals ovate or elliptic, subequal, 8 mm long; corolla funnelform, 2.5–5 cm long, angular, white, rarely red-purple, glabrous; stamens and style included.
• Capsules glabrous, ovoid or globose, 7–10 mm long; seeds glabrous or pubescent.

• 台灣 : widely cultivated as a vegetable and naturalized or persisting after cultivation.
• 世界 : Circumtropical.
