形態特徵

• Shrubs, 1–1.5 m tall; branches and branchlets sparsely pubescent when young.
• Leaves coriaceous or subcoriaceous, narrowly oblong or lanceolate, 6–10 cm long, 1.5–3 cm broad; base cuneate, apex long attenuate-acuminate or caudate-acuminate upper surface; sparsely hirsute above on midrib, lower surface sparsely pubescent; secondary veins 5 or 6-pairs, veinlets nearly reticulate, with intercostal; stipules narrowly deltate, ca. 2 mm long, sparsely pubescent, caducous in age; petiole 5–12 mm long, sparsely pubescent or glabrate. Peduncle 3–5 mm long.
• Flowers sessile, ebracteate, 3–6 flowers in axillary heads. Calyx campanulate, ca. 5 mm long, pubescent outside, lobes 5, ca. 0.5 mm long. Corolla salverform, 10- 15 mm long, white, except at base tube upper 2/3 pubescent inside, from one-third upwards pubescent outside, lobes 5, 3–4 mm long. Stamens 5, sessile, anthers oblong, ca. 2 mm long, pubescent at suture. Style filiform, ca.10 mm long, stigma 5-branched.
• Drupes globose, ca. 6 mm in diam., blue, glabrous. Seeds 5.

分布

• 台灣 : at low to high elevations in the northern and southeastern parts.
• 世界 : Japan and S. China.
