形態特徵

• A glabrous woody vine without tendrils; sems terete, green.
• Leaves simple, coriaceous; elliptic-ovate, 3–7 cm long, 2–3 cm wide, apex acuminate, base attenuate-acuminate, margins entire, glabrous on both surfaces, green above, pale green below, lateral veins 3–6 pairs; petiole 5–9 mm long.
• Flowers axillary, usually solitary, rarely in 2 or 3 flowered cymes, peduncles ca. 3–8 mm long, bracts narrowly triangular, ca. 1 mm long. Flowers cream, pedicel 7–9 mm long; calyx 5-merous, widely depressed obovate, ca. 1 mm long and wide, glabrous, margin ciliate; corolla deeply 5-lobed, lobes lanceolate, ca. 6 mm long, 1.5 mm wide, recurved, subglabrous, apex acute, base united ca. 1 mm; stamens 5, coherent; anthers 5–6 mm long, 1.5 mm wide, fulvous, connective white, narrowly triangular, ca. 3 mm long, 1 mm wide, dorsifixed, filaments very short; style slender, 3.5 mm long, slightly exserted beyond coherent anthers.
• Fruits ca. 1 cm across, dark red.

分布

• 台灣 : very rare, known only from two recent collections: Chachayalaishan, about 900 m, and Wuling Farm, about 2,000 m.
• 世界 : Japan.
