形態特徵

• Medium deciduous tree, 10–20 m tall; young branchlets covered with brown or grey stellate hairs.
• Leaves ovate-lanceolate, base much oblique, broadly cordate on one side, rounded on the other side, apex acutely acuminate, entire, adult ones glabrous above, lower surface densely covered with silvery, brown stellate hairs, 4–20 cm by 2.7–6.5 cm; petiole 4–5 cm; stipules entire, acuminate, often with oblique, dilate, saccate base, 9–10 mm long.
• Flowers solitary, axillary, stellate pubescent; calyx tomentose inside, 4.5–5 cm by 0.5 cm, yellowish brown; petals slightly obliquely obovate, outside along imbricate edges coarsely stellate-hairy, 3.5 cm by 1.3 cm; gynandrophore 2.5–3 mm; stamens 2–2.2 cm long, filament 8 mm, anther 14 mm; staminodes longer, 2.6–2.7 cm, upper part brown scaly, 15–16mm, filament 10 mm; ovary densely stellate hairy, 10 mm by 4 mm; style 2.7 cm.
• Fruit elliptic, acutely constricted at base, acute at apex, smooth, 6.5–9 cm by 3–3.5 cm. Seed (incl. wing) 3–5 cm by 1.3 cm.
