形態特徵

  • A monoecious, annual herbs, 14–50 (60) cm high; stem diffuse, erect or prostrate, branch with ridge.
  • Leaves simple, alternate, green above, paler beneath, oblong to oblong-ovate, 1–2.5 cm long, 5–12 mm broad, fleshy, lateral veins inconspicuous, acute at apex, mucronate, obtuse or round at base, sometimes cuneate, entire; stipules minute, 2 mm long, acuminate; petiole 1 mm long, nearly sessile.
  • Flowers axillary. Staminate flowers: in lower axils, 1–2 mm across; sepals 6, white, obovate or oblong, inside with gland pool; stamens 3, filaments short connate, anthers vertically dehiscent; pistillode absent; disc 6-lobed, pedicels 1–2 mm long. Pistillate flowers: in higher axils, 3–4 mm across, sepals 6, green, ovate-lanceolate, apex acute or acuminate, inside with gland pool, styles 3, 2-branched; ovary 3-celled, cylindric-obconical; disc none; pedicels 1 mm long.
  • Capsule broad-oviform, 5–6 mm long, 4–4.5 mm broad, unmatured green and fleshy, matured purplish and dehiscent, endocarp and epicarp apart. Seeds trigonous, slender and curve, 3–4 mm long.

分布

  • 台灣 : From the west coast toward the southern part.
  • 世界 : Widely distributed over southern China, the Philippines, Java, Ceylon, India and Maritius.
