形態特徵

A shrub or small tree; branchlets glabrous, sometimes angled and pilose when young.
Leaves simple, alternate, green or pale above, green beneath, obovate, oblong-ovate or elliptic, 3–8 cm long, 1.5–4.5 cm broad, coriaceous to chartaceous, lateral veins 4–8 on each side, the apex obtuse, the base acute or cuneate, sometimes slightly oblique, entire; petiole 1–3 mm long; stipules triangular-lanceolate, 2 mm long, the apex acute or hooked.
Flowers in axillary fascicles, staminate flowers in lower axils, pistillate flowers in higher axils, mixed in central axils. Staminate flowers: sepals 6, spreading, yellow; stamens 3 (4), filaments connate into a column; pistillode absent or very minute between the anthers; pedicel slender, 5–10 mm long. Pistillate flowers: sepals 6, erect, not spreading, green; styles cylindrical, more or less elongated, 0.5–2 mm long, 5–8-lobed in summit, persistent in fruit; ovary globose; pedicels 2–6 mm long in fruit.
Capsule depressed-globose, deeply lobed, 5–10 mm across. Seeds red, hemispheroid.
