形態特徵

A deciduous tree, up to 15 m tall; stems often spiny when young; buds glabrous; branchlets grayish pubescent.
Leaves long-petiolate, oblong or elliptic to ovate, 7–14 cm long, 3–6 cm wide, chartaceous, pubescent when young, glabrous at length, the apex acute, the base rounded or obtuse, irregularly serrate; primary veins 8–11 per side.
Flowers 3–6 in a terminal corymb; pedicels 1–2.5 cm long; calyx 5-lobed, the lobes ovate-lanceolate, 6–7 mm long, 2.5–3.5 cm wide, white-grey pubescent on both surfaces; petals 5, white, tinged with yellow, obovate, 1–1.3 cm long, 7–9 mm wide, the apex emarginate or rounded; ovary 5-celled, the styles 4–5.
Pomes globose, 4–5 cm across, yellowish-red when ripe.

分布

台灣 : in broad-Leaved forests at 1,000 to 2,000 m throughout the island.
世界 : Southern China, Vietnam, Laos.
