形態特徵

• Small evergreen tree, to 8 m or more high and 30 cm in diameter; bark smooth; branches crowded.
• Leaves coriaceous, lanceolate, about 15 cm long, 3–4 cm broad, acuminate, entire or coarsely few-dentate toward the apex; petioles 5–10 mm long.
• Flowers bisexual, in a dense lepidote raceme up to 2 cm long; bracts oblong, 4 mm long; calyx lobes 4 mm long; petals 2 mm long; styles 2, purple, about 10–12 mm long.
• Capsule ovoid, 15 mm long, glabrous. Seeds ellipsoid, compressed, about 8 mm long, black and shining.(seed 長:寬=16:9)

分布

• 台灣 : In forests around Sun Moon Lake, in the central part of the island.
• 世界 : Southern China.
