形態特徵

• Procumbent, branching perennial herbs; stem twisted 5-angular, sparsely pubescent.
• Leaves trifoliolate, petioles 2–3 cm long. Leaflets 3, glabrous, chartaceous, rhomboidal-elliptic, petiolules 1 mm long, both ends acute, margin minutely serrulate and revolute, veins prominently depressed above, elevated below, green when young, purplish green when mature; terminal leaflet larger than lateral, 2 cm long, 1.1 cm wide, with lateral veins 7–10 pairs; lateral leaflets 1.5 cm long, 0.8 cm wide, lateral veins 8–9 pairs.
• Flowers axillary, solitary; pedicels slender, 1.5–1.7 cm long; sepals pinkish outside; petals pink, 4, free, linear-lanceolate, membranaceous, midrib 1, lialic blue, apex caudate, margin entire; stamens 6, anthers elongate, sagittate at base; pistil glandular hairly, ovary subsessile, style elongate, disc beaked at apex, carpels 2, 1-celled, placentation parietal.
• capsules linear, with an apical beaked disc, 2.5 cm long, 1 mm thick, peduncles 3 cm long; stalk 1–4 mm long.

物候

Flowering and fruiting October and March.

分布

• 台灣 : naturalized along paddy pathways, streamsides and wetlands. On mosit sandy soils.
• 世界 : Native from tropical Africa to northern Australia, now widely distributed from Java and Sumatra to Taiwan.
