形態特徵

• Bushy shrub 0.3-1.5 m, branches arching; branchlets 4-lined or 4-angled when young, soon 2-lined.
• Leaves with petiole 0.5-2 mm long; lamina 1.5-6 cm long, 0.5-3 cm broad, lanceolate or oblong-lanceolate to ovate or oblong-ovate, apex acute to rounded, chartaceous, glaucous beneath, with obscure lax reticulate venation and only pale glandular dots and short streaks.
• Inflorescence 1-15-flowered, terminal (1-2 nodes), corymbose, sometimes with lower axillary branches flowering; flowers 2.5-4 cm in diam., ± concave, in bud broadly ovoid, obtuse; sepals 5-10 mm long, 3.5-7 mm broad, broadly ovate to oblong-elliptic, rounded or retuse, usually apiculate, with finely denticulate to ciliate scarious margin, erect in fruit; petals 12-18 mm long, 10-14 mm broad, oblong-obovate to broadly obovate, bright or golden yellow, deciduous; stamen fascicles 5, deciduous, each with 50-70 stamens; anthers bright yellow, with amber gland; ovary 5-6 mm long, ovoid, 5-locular, styles shorter, free, ± appressed, outcurving near apex or from lower down.
• Capsule 9-11 mm long, 8-10 mm broad, broadly ovoid;Seeds 1-1.2 mm long, dark brown, scarcely carinate.

分布

• 台灣 : In dry open situations at 2,200-2,300 m. Widely cultivated.
• 世界 : Mainland China and northern Vietnam. Introduced into Japan and Taiwan (naturalized in Mt. Ali area).
