形態特徵

Trees; branches pubescent when young.
Leaves thin-coriaceous, oblong or obovate, 8–12 cm long, 3.5–4.5 cm wide, apex acute or acuminate with obtuse tip, base cuneate, margins serrate toward apex, entire downwards, midrib impressed above, veinlets elevated and reticulated beneath; petioles 6–8 mm long.
Flowers white, solitary, axillary; pedicels 3–4 mm long, pilose, bracts semiorbicular, densely sericeo-pubescent outside; sepals 5, deciduous, unequal, orbicular, 4–7 mm in diameter, densely sericeo-pubescent outside; petals 5, unequal, connate at the base, outer ones obovate-oblong, 1–1.5 cm long, emarginate at apex, sericeo-pubescent without on the central part of the surface; stamens numerous, connate at base, 7–9 mm long; ovary densely sericeo-pubescent; style 1, 7–8 mm long.
Fruit spherical, 3-lobed, 1.2–1.8 cm long, silky pubescent; seeds 2–3 (usually 3) in each valve, compressed, ca. 1 cm long.

台灣 : Taiwan, in northern and central parts of the island.
