形態特徵

• Evergreen trees, trunk up to 15 m tall; Bark of male trees light yellow to grayish brown, smooth, lenticels prominent; that of female trees light green to grayish brown, smooth, with fewerm lenticels. Young twigs covered with dense pubescence of light gol
• Leaves coriaceous, alternate or whirled-like, ovate, obovate lanceolate, or oblong lanceolate, 9.5±1.3 cm long and 3±0.5 cm wide; apex acuminate to caudate, forming 25.5±16.3° angles; base acute or cuneate, angles 27.5±7°. Young Leaves reddish brown, densely pilose of light yellow above, later becoming glabrous green; also densely pilose slightly wavy. Petioles 1.9±0.3 cm long, densely pilose light yellow at beginning, becoming whitish gray, then glabrous.
• Dioecious, flowers light yellow, blooming October to November. Infloerscence umbel-like, axillary, each with 5 floretes; peduncles 3 mm long, densely covered with brownish pubescence. Involuvcres 4, decussate, densely pubescent outside and sparsely pubescent on inside of upper parts. Pedicels of male florets 6±0.5 mm long, female florets 3±0.2 mm long, both with dense pubescence. Tepals 4, 3.5±0.3 mm long and 2.2±0.2 mm wide in male flowers, 2.2±0.2 mm long and 0.8±0.2 mm wide in female; densely pubescent outside and sparsely pubescent inside. Male flowers with 6 stamens, 3-whirled, filaments 4 mm long, sparsely pubescent; anthers 4-celled, oblong, 1.5 mm in length, 0.8 mm in width. Stamens of 3 rd whorl with 2 stalkedglands, sterile ovary exists. Female flower oblong, glavrous, 1.5 mm long and 0.7±0.1 mm wide; stigma peltate; styles 1.7±0.2 mm long, pubescent.
• Fruits drupe, globose to oblong, 1.2 cm long and 1.1 cm across; reddish; peduncles 0.9 cm long.

• 台灣 : from 680 to 2,300 mm; along the Southern Cross-island highway, on Yangming mt. and in the Experimental Forest of the Fushan Branch, TFRI.
• 世界 : Japan, eastern Chian and Korea.
