形態特徵

  • Medium-sized Evergreen trees; bark grayish-brown; branchlets glabrous.
  • Leaves clustered near apex of branchlets, coriaceous, oblanceolate to oblong, 11-18 cm long, 3.5-5 cm broad, abruptly acuminate at apex, cuneate at base, glabrous above, glaucous and appressed-hairy beneath, with 3 main veins, midrib impressed above, elevated and grayish beneath, with long golden hairs when young, lateral veins 3 or 4 pairs; petioles 1-1.5 cm long, glabrous.
  • Inflorescences glomerulate, axillary or lateral; involucral bracts nearly rounded, puberulent outside, caducous; tepals 4, ovate-lanceo-late, pubescent outside; staminate Inflorescences umbellate-glomerulate, 5 or 6-flowered; fertile stamens 6, deciduous, 5.5 mm long, filaments filiform, hirsute at base, anthers 4-celled, 1st and 2nd whorles of stamens eglandular, 3rd whorl with 2 glands; pistillate flowers with ovary ovoid, stigma 2-lobed.
  • Fruit ellipsoid, 1.2 cm long; pedicels 5 mm long, black at maturity.

物候

flowering April to May.

分布

  • 台灣 : in broad-leaved forests in lowlands.
  • 世界 : The Ryukyus?.
