Medium-sized Evergreen trees; branchlets glabrous, brownish-black when dry; buds hirsute.
Leaves ovate-elliptic, coriaceous, 9-11 cm long, 4.5-6 cm broad, short acuminate at apex, obtuse at base, lateral veins 5-6 pairs, reticulate veinlets prominent; petioles ca. 1 cm long, stout, glabrous.
Inflorescences paniculate, axillary, ca. 7-8 cm long, hirsute; flowers ca. 1.5 mm long; tepals 6, elliptic-obovate, 1.5 mm long, obtuse, densely hirsute on both surfaces; fertile stamens 9, anthers 2-celled, filaments villous; ovary glabrous.
Fruit globose, ca. 2 cm across, glabrous, black, longitudinally ridged.
