形態特徵

  • Evergreen trees; bark of trunk often with knobs, somewhat smooth and lustrous, sprouting power of trunk very strong; young shoots hairy.
  • Leaves alternate, broadly elliptic, ovate to rhombic-ovate, 5-7.5 cm long, 2.5-4.5 cm broad, acuminate at apex, acute at base, entire, undulate, deep green, polished above, grayish-white beneath, with 3 main veins, lateral veins 2-3 pairs, in addition to 2 lateral main veins; petioles tinged red, ca. 1.4 cm long.
  • Inflorescence paniculate, axillary; peduncles 4-4.5 cm long; tepals 6, oblong, hairy inside.
  • Berry compress-ed-globose, 6-8 mm across, seeds smaller, 4.2-5.4 mm across.

flowering period February.; maturing June to August.

  • 台灣 : Scattered in the eastern and southern parts of Taiwan.
