形態特徵

• Annual ascending or erect herbs, to 150 cm tall; stems branched, glabrous; nodes enlarged.
• Leaves lanceolate, 12–20 cm long, 2–4 cm wide, apex acuminate, base cuneate to narrowly cuneate, upper margins eciliate, both surfaces glandular; petioles 1–3 cm long, narrowly winged; ocreae tubular, 2–3 cm long, apex truncate, glabrous, upper margins eciliate.
• Inflorescences 5- or 6-flowered fascicles in spike-like panicles, terminal or axillary, densely flowered, interrupted below, 3–8 cm long; peduncles glabrous, 2–5 cm long; bracts funnelform, glabrous, apex acute, upper margins eciliate. Flowers pink to red; pedicels exserted; perianth segments 5, elliptic, ca. 3 mm long, apex rounded; stamens 5–6; styles 2-cleft, included or exserted; nectaries present.
• Achenes dark brown to black, biconvex, smooth, shining, 2–2.5 mm long.

分布

• 台灣 : at low altitudes, on roadsides, in waste fields and swampy places throughout the island.
• 世界 : Africa, India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam, S China, the Ryukyus, the Philippines, the Pacific Islands, Australia and the Americas.
