形態特徵

• Perennial slender herbs; stems ascending, quadrate with distinct angles, sparsely puberulent at first, soon glabrescent.
• Leaves membranaceous, very sparsely puberulent or glabrous, narrowly elliptic, obovate or oblong, 1.5-5.5 cm long, 0.5-2 cm wide, base semi-cordate or semi-rounded, margins sparsely minutely ciliate, dentate or crenate, apex acute, minutely ciliate and acute or obtuse at tip, semi-triplinerved or penninerved; stipules glabrous above, minutely puberulent beneath, lanceolate, ca. 2 mm long.
• Male inflorescences ellipsoid, ca. 7 mm across, peduncles sparsely minute puberulent, to 4 cm long. Female inflorescences usually obliquely quadrate, sessile or subsessile; bracts sparsely minute puberulent, connate into an unlobed, oblong involucre. Male flowers pedicellate; sepals 5, connate at base; pedicels glabrous. Female flowers pedicellate; bracteoles semi-transparent, acute, fimbriate in upper half; sepals 3, free, rudimentary; staminodes 3; ovary glabrous, ovoid.
• Achenes ovoid or ellipsoid, ca. 0.7 mm long, 0.4 mm wide.

• 台灣 : medium altitudes, growing on moist forest floors or beside streams and in ravines.
