Rhizomes short-creeping, rather thick, scaly, the scales triangular lanceolate, long acuted, about 5 mm long, clathrate, pubescent, ciliate.
Fronds approximate, pilose throughout; stipes 29-34 cm long, scaly at base; laminae-elliptic, 15-18 cm long, 10-11 cm wide; pinnae free below, adnate about, the lowest pair of pinnae usually deflexed; all the lateral veins in the lobes free, the lowest pair meeting the margin at or near the sinus.
Sori elongate along the lateral veins, without indusia.
