型態特徵
Trees or shrubs. Leaves alternate, entire or crenulate; cystoliths punctiform; petioles usually long; stipules free, lateral or intrapetiolar, deciduous. Inflorescences unisexual, axillary, branched and cymosely arranged clusters, rarely solitary; receptacle of female clusters slightly fleshy. Male flowers 4-merous. Female flowers with tubular, minutely toothed perianth; stigma peltate or penicillate-capitate. Achenes straight, adnate to persistent, somewhat fleshy perianth.
About 15 species from Sri Lanka to Japan, two species in Taiwan.
